CME Program – “Principles of Surgical Technique in Arthroplasty” – Course 4

Course 4 of “Principles of Surgical Technique in Arthroplasty” at the Tam Anh Research Institute at Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City is still open for enrollment. This course will span for a total of two months, from Nov. 6 2023 to Jan. 5, 2024.

CME PROGRAM - “PRINCIPLES OF SURGICAL TECHNIQUE IN ARTHROPLASTY” - COURSE 4

Tam Anh General Hospital and Tam Anh Research Institute, as one of the leading units in the field of artificial joint replacement, continue to host the training program “Principles of Surgical Technique in Arthroplasty” – course 4. The course curriculum contains basic information such as operating on a sawbone model and practicing and helping in surgery on actual patients. This helps orthopedic surgeons apply their expertise, hone their surgical skills, and master the step-by-step execution of a comprehensive replacement surgery.

Training objectives

Knowledge

  1. Describe the anatomy of the hip, knee, and shoulder joints
  2. Present and evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of hip, knee, and shoulder surgery
  3. Design many varieties of shoulder, knee, and hip joints, as well as the essential concepts of shoulder, knee, and hip replacement
  4. Describe frequent issues and how to deal with them following joint replacement surgery

Skill

  1. Under the supervision of an instructor, practice a hip replacement case on a model and a patient.
  2. Under the supervision of an instructor, practice a knee replacement case on a model and a patient.
  3. Under the supervision of an instructor, practice a shoulder replacement case on a model and a patient

Attitude

  1. Recognize the significance of shoulder, knee, and hip replacement procedures in the management of joint injury
  2. Accurate comprehension of the function of joint replacement surgery within the CTCH sector
  3. Be informed of the risks of joint replacement surgery in addition to the benefits

Intended audiences

Orthopedic surgeon with a valid license to practice or agency verification of at least two years’ experience in the field.
