This course is a foundational training programme developed through the collaboration between the Tam Anh Research Institute and the University of Oxford. It aims to strengthen core research capacity among healthcare professionals. Upon completion, participants will be able to proactively propose ideas, design and implement high-quality studies grounded in solid scientific principles, ethical standards, data governance and methodological rigour.

The course equips participants with a solid foundation in research thinking and competency, enabling them to independently propose, design and implement studies using appropriate methodologies, and in compliance with ethical standards and data governance principles.

By the end of the workshop participants are expected to:

• Navigate peer-reviewed literature to inform research
• Formulate research questions to address identified research gaps
• Devise appropriate methodology to answer the research question(s)
• Identify (or collect) and manage data needed to address research questions
• Categorise relevant ethical issues related to research and develop plan to mitigate
• Engage with different audiences to formulate and disseminate research outcomes
