Event Announcement: Seminar “Workshop On Clinical Immunology Update”

On November 23, 2024, Tam Anh Research Institute – Tam Anh General Hospital in HCMC will be hosting a seminar titled “Workshop On Clinical Immunology Update”. This event offers doctors, graduate students in clinical immunology, and healthcare professionals a valuable opportunity to exchange and update their knowledge on clinical immunology—a field focused on the study, diagnosis, and treatment of allergies and autoimmune diseases.

The event will be held both in-person and online, featuring prominent speakers from the U.S. and Sweden, as well as experts from Tam Anh General Hospital in HCMC and the University of Medicine & Pharmacy HCMC. Over 300 participants from across Vietnam are expected to attend the event.

Assoc. Prof Hoang Thi Lam, MD, PhD – Head of the Clinical Immunology Department at Tam Anh General Hospital in HCMC – said: “In recent years, allergy and autoimmune diseases have been on the rise, due to factors such as unpredictable climate change, complex population shifts, rapid industrialization, epidemics, and severe environmental pollution. Additionally, advancements in science and technology have led to the discovery of new drugs, a clearer understanding of disease mechanisms, and the emergence of modern therapeutic methods. This event will provide a comprehensive overview of allergy and autoimmune diseases, equipping students, doctors, and healthcare professionals with valuable insights and practical knowledge to enhance patient care.”

She will present on various topics, including the role of antihistamines in the treatment of allergic rhinitis; CAR-T therapy in treating refractory SLE; and biologics in SLE treatment.

International experts will also share insights on topics such as updates on urticaria and angioedema and asthma management.
