As per the International Society of Nephrology (ISN), kidney diseases impact approximately 1 in 1000 individuals globally. According to data from a recent program organized by the Central Vietnam Young Physicians Association, it has been estimated that over 8.7 million adults in Vietnam suffer from chronic kidney disease, accounting for 12.8% of the population.

Hemodialysis is a highly effective treatment option for individuals who are experiencing kidney failure. Its primary objective is to enhance the longevity of patients who are in the advanced stages of renal disease. At present, our nation has more than 400 hemodialysis units, which unfortunately only fulfill around 30% of the demand.

Water plays a crucial role in the hemodialysis system, with each dialysis patient needing approximately 22,000 liters of purified water per year. As a result, the water source undergoes a rigorous process of filtration, temperature adjustment, and pH balancing, as well as softening and demineralization, to ensure that the final product meets the required standards for RO water. The RO water system is an essential component of the dialysis unit.

Join us for a scientific workshop focused on the latest advancements in the treatment of chronic kidney disease. This event will provide valuable insights into the management and care of dialysis patients, covering a wide range of important topics including nutrition, cardiovascular health, mental health, pregnancy health, musculoskeletal health, and more. The program will include contributions from experts and doctors from various reputable organizations, including the Vietnam Society of Dialysis, the Vietnam Society of Nephrology and Urology, Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, and Cho Ray Hospital. Additionally, we are honored to have MSc. Eldridge Peter John, the Technical Director for Asia Pacific and Australia for water solutions in the field of hemodialysis from Fresenius Medical Care, Australia, joining us.
