On September 27, 2025, the Tam Anh General Hospital Group, in collaboration with the Tam Anh Research Institute (TAMRI), will hold a specialized pre-conference (workshop) titled “Congenital and Valvular Heart Disease.”

This workshop, part of the 2025 Annual Scientific Conference, will feature prominent speakers from Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, including:
- Assoc. Prof. Pham Nguyen Vinh, M.D., Ph.D. – Director of the Cardiology Center, Vice President of the Vietnam Heart Association, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Heart Association;
- Vu Nang Phuc, M.D., Level II Specialist – Head of the Congenital Heart Disease Department;
- Nguyen Pham Thuy Linh, M.D., Level I Specialist – Congenital Heart Disease Department;
- Pham Thuc Minh Thuy, M.D. – Congenital Heart Disease Department; Nguyen Thi My Hanh, M.D., Ph.D. – Department of Internal Cardiology;
- Pham Do Anh Thu, M.D., M.Sc. – Department of Internal Cardiology; Huynh Thi Minh Thuy, M.D., M.Sc. – Congenital Heart Disease Department;
- Le Thi Lan Huong, M.D., M.Sc. – Center for Diagnostic Imaging & Interventional Radiology.
At the workshop, speakers will deliver presentations on specialized topics such as percutaneous pulmonary valve replacement, post-operative care for patients with aortic coarctation, the role of transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography in evaluating valvular heart disease, prevention and treatment of heart failure in diabetic patients, the use of computed tomography (CT) in the diagnosis and treatment of valvular heart disease, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for diagnosis and prognosis of valve disorders.
Beyond being a forum for knowledge exchange on diagnosis and treatment of congenital and valvular heart disease, the workshop will also present an opportunity to discuss complex and rare clinical cases. Attendees will also have the chance to engage in hands-on practice with advanced techniques and receive valuable CME certification. Insights and advice from Assoc. Prof. Pham Nguyen Vinh, M.D., Ph.D., and leading experts will equip doctors with valuable experience in diagnosis and treatment planning for patients at their facilities.
“Through this conference, we hope to share and disseminate the latest knowledge, cutting-edge ultrasound and imaging techniques, and practical insights from top experts to our colleagues in the field. Our goal is to jointly improve the quality of cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment in Vietnam, reduce mortality rates, and enhance patients’ quality of life,” said Assoc. Prof. Pham Nguyen Vinh, M.D., Ph.D.
Tam Anh General Hospital has previously organized and co-hosted international-scale cardiology conferences, including the Southern Regional Cardiology Scientific Conference, Update on Management of Congenital and Structural Heart Disease from Fetus to Adult, the Asian Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Conference (ATCSA 2023), and the 11th International Conference on Congenital and Structural Heart Disease themed “Atrial Septal Defect from A to Z.”
As a pioneer in applying artificial intelligence across clinical diagnostics and treatment, particularly in cardiology, Tam Anh General Hospital Group has invested in state-of-the-art imaging equipment.
A standout is the GE Healthcare Vivid E95 ultrasound system, which incorporates AI algorithms capable of automatically identifying regions of interest (ROI), enabling doctors to calculate ejection fraction (EF), assess cardiac function, detect abnormalities, and measure cardiac structures with a single click. This enhances diagnostic speed and accuracy, particularly optimized for echocardiography in newborns and infants.
The AI-integrated echocardiography system at Tam Anh General Hospital enables rapid detection of abnormalities in congenital heart disease, coronary artery disease, and valvular conditions.
In addition, the hospital has acquired advanced technologies such as transesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, computed tomography (CT), and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These technologies assist doctors in comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of complex valvular cases, coronary artery disease, and congenital heart defects.
The interventional cardiology suite is internationally accredited and features state-of-the-art imaging systems, including the Philips Azurion Robotic Ceiling FlexArm digital subtraction angiography (DSA) system with a robotic arm that rotates 360 degrees, integrated with Vietnam’s first IntraSight system, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), fractional flow reserve (FFR/iFFR) measurement, and cutting-edge cardiovascular intervention software such as Cardiac Swing, Dynamic Coronary Roadmap, and StentBoost Live.
Additionally, the hospital has a hybrid operating room that integrates surgery and interventional procedures in a single session, enabling successful treatment of severe valvular stenosis and regurgitation, Tetralogy of Fallot, aortic coarctation, pulmonary artery stenosis, ventricular septal defects, and atrial septal defects.
“With our experience in organizing international scientific conferences, state-of-the-art infrastructure for advanced procedures, and a team of experienced cardiologists, congenital heart specialists, surgeons, and interventionalists, we aim to deliver a meaningful and impactful workshop that sets the stage for the success of our 2025 Annual Scientific Conference,” said Vu Nang Phuc, M.D.
