Doctors from the Congenital Heart Disease Department of Tam Anh General Hospital’s Cardiovascular Center will take part in the 10th Vietnam Congress of Congenital and Structural Heart Disease (PDA 2024) between January 17-19, 2024. This conference on congenital heart intervention and pediatric cardiology, which is held annually in Vietnam, is the third largest of its kind in the world.

Vu Nang Phuc, executive committee member of HCMC Pediatric Cardiology & Congenital Heart Disease Society and head of the Congenital Heart Department at Tam Anh General Hospital in HCMC, other doctors from Tam Anh General Hospital Group will be demonstrating a range of congenital heart intervention techniques at this year’s conference on January 19. The program will be broadcasted live from the DSA Room at Tam Anh General Hospital in HCMC to the Sheraton Saigon Hotel conference hall, where many local and international experts will be following the event.

The detailed schedule is as follows:

  • January 19, 2024, 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Left Pulmonary Artery Stent Fracture. Management of pulmonary artery stent fracture by a stent-in-stent technique in a 24-year-old man with Tetralogy of Fallot repaired, left pulmonary artery stenting and percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation.
  • January 19, 2024, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Potts Shunt in Pulmonary Artery Hypertension (PAH). Tiny PDA stenting in a 36-year-old woman with pulmonary artery hypertension, WHO HFC III.

Notably, the hybrid operating room allows patients to undergo both surgical and interventional procedures simultaneously.

Following a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s event returns under the theme “Patent Ductus Arteriosus from A to Z.”

The event will feature nearly 100 presentations, with the participation of over 300 experts in the field of congenital heart interventions from Vietnam and countries around the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

Experts will present and discuss a variety of interesting topics at the conference, including fetal echocardiography, severe congenital heart abnormalities in fetuses, congenital heart disease treatment, closure of arterial ducts and atrial septal defects in special cases, long-term complications after ductal closure, closure of arterial ducts in premature infants, and arterial duct stent placement procedures.
