The presence of Dr. Yvonne Loh Su Ming, an expert from Curie Oncology (Singapore), at the scientific symposium “Advances in CAR-T cell therapy in the treatment of relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (R/R DLBCL)” is anticipated to offer practical perspectives and foster extensive international collaboration in stem cell transplantation for hematological malignancies.

Unlocking CAR-T cell therapy with Asia's leading stem cell transplant expert

Organized by the Tam Anh Research Institute, the symposium serves as a specialized academic forum where Dr. Loh will present and engage in discussions with Vietnam’s leading hematologists. The panel includes Prof. Tran Thanh Tung, MD, PhD – Chief Medical Officer at Tam Anh General Clinic; Prof. Hoang Thi Thuy Ha, MD, PhD – Deputy Director and Manager of the Blood Transfusion Center at Cho Ray Hospital; and Prof. Huynh Van Man, MD, PhD – Head of the Stem Cell Transplant Department at the Ho Chi Minh City Blood Transfusion and Hematology Hospital…

Prior to the clinical presentations from the Singaporean expert, the following highlights Dr. Loh’s distinguished academic and professional trajectory.

Bridging Expertise: Advancing CAR-T cell therapy

Globally, CAR-T cell therapy is considered a breakthrough in the treatment of complex hematological malignancies. Dr. Yvonne Loh will directly share these insights at Tam Anh through the presentation, “Short- and Long-Term Monitoring Following CAR-T Cell Therapy in Patients with relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (R/R DLBCL).”

Having graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and completed an advanced fellowship at Northwestern University (USA) – a premier center for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in autoimmune diseases – she is among the few experts in the region with extensive practical experience in this specialized field.

The Architect of Transplant Programs

Dr. Loh formerly served as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Haematology and the Medical Director of the SGH HSCT program at Singapore General Hospital. In this capacity, she led the standardization of patient care protocols spanning from diagnosis to transplantation. Notably, in 2015, she established the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Program at Raffles Hospital. Over seven years, this program attracted a significant number of patients with hematological malignancies not only from Singapore but also from across Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Shaping National Medical Standards and Connecting the International Marrow Donor Network

Dr. Loh’s influence extends beyond the hospital setting. She currently serves as a member of the Stem Cell/Bone Marrow Transplant Working Committee under the Ministry of Health of Singapore. In this role, she actively participates in drafting standards and operational protocols for stem cell transplantation under the nation’s Healthcare Act. Concurrently, she has published numerous medical studies in top-tier global journals, including Blood, JAMA, Bone Marrow Transplantation, and Lancet Neurology.

In addition to her medical achievements, Dr. Loh is deeply committed to global humanitarian efforts. For 12 years (2007–2019), she was a medical advisor and board member of the Bone Marrow Donor Programme, overseeing Singapore’s voluntary stem cell donor registry and actively coordinating transplant activities with international registries. She also frequently volunteers to provide medical care for migrant workers through HealthServe.

The academic exchange between Dr. Yvonne Loh and Vietnamese experts at the Tam Anh Research Institute not only facilitates the update of advanced treatment protocols but also strengthens international medical collaboration, contributing to advanced capacity building and expanding treatment opportunities for patients in Vietnam.
