Tam Anh Research Institute is conducting DPOS research on methods to increase successful pregnancy rates for women experiencing insufficient ovarian egg production.

Due to low pregnancy rates, low ovarian reserve (also known as ovaries with few oocytes) remains a significant obstacle in the field of assisted reproductive treatment. At Tam Anh Research Institute, we investigate methods to increase the successful pregnancy rate for women with ovaries having limited oocytes.

Several ovarian stimulation techniques are currently used to increase the number of oocytes and embryos, thereby increasing the likelihood of embryo transfer and enhancing pregnancy outcomes. Some studies indicate that oocyte cryopreservation can be considered a secure technique; the incidence of obstetric indicators and birth defects in the offspring of cryopreserved oocytes is comparable to that of the general population.

This work is being done in a very different way at the assisted reproduction unit at Tam Anh General Hospital in HCMC. That is to employ the method of collecting eggs from multiple cycles of ovarian stimulation to women with low ovarian reserve. This “lifesaving” technique can enable many families to have children using their own eggs, rather than relying on donated eggs. This method may be a viable option for increasing the number of embryos at a comparable success rate and a more reasonable cost.

The Ministry of Health has granted approval for the study and our research team is calling for colleagues’ support in recommending female participants for the study.
